Birds of a Feather Vacation Beach House, referred by its friends as "The Bird House" is a large, comfortable beach house that sits just 32 steps from the soft, white Pismo Beach sand. The 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath vacation home offers plenty of room for families or groups up to 16. Tucked away in the historic Strand neighborhood of Oceano, it is located about 3 miles south the Pismo Pier and downtown Pismo Beach. It is within walking distance to restaurants, shops, the Pismo State Beach nature center, hiking trails, playground and the Oceano lagoon. There is easy access to the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreational Area - the only beach in California where you may drive onto the beach, ride horses (stable nearby), rent dune buggies, four-wheelers, enjoy a bonfire, fish, surf or swim. Look carefully, and you may be able to spot otters or dolphins frolicking in the surf, or whales, seals, sea lions swimming off shore.

This wonderful home includes a huge family room with an ocean view deck, wide screen TV with DVD/VCR, Karaoke and Foosball. The large back deck with incredible lagoon views is perfect for barbecues, sunset dining or bird watching. Each guest room has a TV with DVD. The fenced downstairs patio is ideal for sun bathing, conversations, or just relaxing. It has a large, fully equipped kitchen and downstairs kitchenette. Harry Potter’s Closet, located under the stairs, provides a special place for the kids. There is a 2-car garage and in-driveway parking, free Wi-Fi, ping-pong and free washer and dryer. It offers a casual, fun atmosphere for all, with multiple entertaining areas indoors and out. It is ideal for family reunions or get-togethers, friend wine or golf weekends, church retreats, corporate retreats, or sports teams.

DOWNSTAIRS

THE ENTRY

Say "Hello" to the Captain in the window when you enter. Please note the beach rules posted across from the Captain.

THE SAND ROOM

To your left is the Sand Room, complete with a kitchenette that includes a microwave and refrigerator, so you can prepare a snack or keep your beverages cold before heading out to the beach. Those downstairs can use the kitchenette to heat up some munchies or prepare a quick breakfast without going up to the kitchen. There is a shoe rack to hold sandy shoes and a bucket in which you may empty sandy shoes and socks. Don't tell the kids, but there are beach toys in the baskets under the bench.

THE LIBRARY

The Library is located next to the Sand Room, Included is a selection of children's books, novels, science fiction, adventure, romance, non-fiction books and magazines. A comfortable chair and reading lamp is provided so you can curl up with your favorite book and relax. The kids can hang out in Harry Potter’s closet, which of course, is located under the stairs.

THE PARROT ROOM - BEDROOM #1

The Parrot Room has two comfortable double (Full) beds, a large mirrored closet, ceiling fan, cable television with DVD player for your convenience.

THE BEACH ROOM - BEDROOM #2

The Beach Room has two comfortable twin beds, a large mirrored closet, cable television with built-in DVD player. It is a great place for the kids. It opens out to the Patio.

THE SHELL ROOM - BEDROOM #3

The Shell Room has one queen bed, a large mirrored closet and cable television and DVD player.

DOWNSTAIRS BATH

The downstairs bath includes a tub with a shower and a granite top sink. The massager shower can be used to sooth or clean up the kids after a day on the beach. Extra towels are stored in the downstairs hall closet.

PATIO

The private, fenced patio is a wonderful place to enjoy the quiet serenity of the area. It is a perfect place to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea while listening to the surf. The Patio includes a lounge chair for sun-bathing as well as a love-seat, bench, chair and table for conversation, snacks or drinks. The Patio provides an enclosed space where the children may play outside. Cushions for the patio furniture are stored in the closet of the Beach Room.

GARAGE

The two-car garage contains a Washer and Dryer for your use. Also included are extra chairs which you may take to the beach. A ping pong table is provided for your entertainment. You are welcome to fly the kites that are stored in the garage. The garage has an automatic garage door opener. Three additional cars may be parked in the driveway so your group does not have to look for on-street parking, which is extremely limited.

UPSTAIRS

When you come up the stairs you will greeted by our friendly birds and our colorful shark. Don't worry, he won't bite.

KITCHEN

The large, fully equipped kitchen allows you to create wonderful home-cooked meals for your gang. Included is a 5 burner gas stove with a large oven, microwave, crock-pot, toaster-oven, automatic coffee maker, wine cooler and dishwasher. The kitchen bar allows you to serve snacks or quick meals as needed, put on a buffet, or serve drinks.

FAMILY ROOM

The large, comfortable, Family Room is the perfect place for your group to hang out, play games, watch TV, talk, entertain guests and relax. It is arranged so your group can all get together, or break up into separate activities depending on everyone's interests. The Great Room opens onto the breezeway that connects the front and back decks, so you can also enjoy the great outdoors.

Included in the Family Room is a Foosball table and a Karaoke Machine for your entertainment. There is a wide-screen TV with cable, DVD and VHS, so you can watch sports, movies or your favorite shows. Bring some tunes, as there is a CD / i-Pod / MP-3 player / Radio for your listening pleasure. There is free high-speed wireless internet access is throughout the house.

The kitchen bar seats 4, Dining table can expand to seat up to 10

The expandable dining table can seat up to 10 when all leaves are used. The kitchen bar seats three, allowing you to serve snacks or quick meals as needed, put on a buffet, or serve drinks. The round glass table seats an additional six and serves as a convenient place to play cards or board games, assemble puzzles or just chat.

The a comfortable queen sofa bed, queen futon and a click-bet (fold down sofa-bed) in the Family Room provide additional sleeping facilities for large groups. Blankets, sheets and pillows are in the large storage chest in front of the television.

MASTER BEDROOM

The large Master Bedroom contains a king bed, a television with cable and DVD player, a walk-in closet. and a bay window overlooking the sand dunes and lagoon. The television cabinet contains a library of almost two hundred movies and cartoons for your viewing pleasure. The walk-in closet contains a selection of board games, puzzles, card games and toys, as well as extra towels, linens, pillows bedding and comforters. The Master Bedroom opens onto the breezeway that connects the front and back decks, so you can easily step outside for some fresh air and listen to the crashing of the waves.

The Master Bath includes a large soaking tub with a shower.

UPSTAIRS BATH

A half-bath is located next to the Great Room, allowing your guests or those staying in the Great Room a quick and convenient place to freshen up.

REAR BAR-B-QUE VIEW DECK

The large, rear view deck is the perfect place for barbeques, entertaining, evening drinks, bird watching, observing the antique aircraft take-off from the Oceano Airport or watching the sunrise with a cup of morning coffee. The deck overlooks the nearby lagoon and sand dunes. On most evenings you will be serenaded by the crashing waves and the quietly croaking frogs. The deck includes a gas barbeque, table and chairs for convenient outdoor dining. The deck can be accessed from the Great Room or Master Bedroom.

FRONT VIEW DECK

The front deck looks onto the beach, making it the perfect place to observe a romantic sunset, do a little beach reading, or enjoy the fresh sea air. The deck can be accessed from the Family Room or Master Bedroom.
